5 Reasons to Love Fervent Coffee Roasters

I recently discovered a new local coffee here in Las Vegas; Fervent Coffee Roasters & Labs. I gotta say, it has quickly become my favorite coffee. Ever.

Don’t forget to grab your FREE copy of the Coffee Roast & Brew Guide! It has all of the secrets to brewing great coffee at home, with a bonus of showing you how to pair your coffee with different foods so you can enjoy coffee anytime and not just in the morning. Plus you’ll get on my monthly newsletter where I share new coffee spots, exclusive recipes, and other tips to make great coffee right at home!

My path crossed with the owner of Fervent Coffee Roasters, Keith Beake on my Facebook business page. I’m not exactly sure how long Keith had been a follower of mine, but I have regularly noticed Keith interacting only recently. He could have been a lurker for a hot minute because honestly, I don’t measure my page by ‘likes’. I try to keep my followers engaged with funny coffee memes, valuable information about the world of coffee, and lots of personality.

Anyhoo…

One day I was doing some market research; specifically around the price point folks would pay for a new coffee maker. Keith popped in the thread with some insight into a commercial brewer and that’s where the paths intersected. I quickly learned Keith was an actual roaster, HERE IN VEGAS.

By 6:00 p.m. that night, I had a bag of freshly roasted beans and a sample ON MY PORCH. Fervent Coffee Roasters quickly earned my business. Probably for life and here’s why.

Customer Service

Keith is a cottage roaster, which by definition by the local health department gives him approval to roast and package coffee (a consumable) out of his home. He roasts every Friday, giving the beans a day to sit and rest before bagging and delivering to his customers on Sunday. Keith delivered my order within hours of being placed, contactless on my porch. He let me know when he was leaving for deliveries and when he left it so it wouldn’t sit for long.

Coffee Quality

When I brewed my coffee the next morning, the beans were in tact and roasted to perfection. They were bright and medium roasted, whole bean and packaged in a brown resealable bag. I could tell Fervent Coffee Roasters takes great care of their beans, from green to roasted. Keith shared with me that he takes a lot of pride in perfecting his roasting; often spending weeks to get the flavor profile right. All of their coffee is small batch roasted, with most of their batches yielding two 350g bags with 75g left for Keith to sample the roasts with. (that’s about one bag per batch, roughly)

Value for the Money

Fervent Coffee Roasters is in line with their pricing. They are competitive in pricing offering 12 oz bags of small batch roasted coffee for roughly $15.00. I use about 4.5 tablespoons of coffee per day so I can usually rip through a bag in a bit over a week. Keith also gives a discount for locals, so if you live in the Las Vegas valley this is a fantastic option, especially with the free delivery.

I will never sacrifice quality or taste.

Tasty Coffee

I thoroughly enjoyed my bag of Guatemalan Chichen. The lavender was florally but not overpowering, in fact, it almost provided an earthy taste over floral. The brown sugar and milk chocolate at the finish was the perfect balance of deep molasses and cocoa. I’m excited to use this coffee for a brown sugar oatmilk shaken cold brew!

Passion for Coffee

I have yet to meet a coffee roaster who has shared with me their journey. Fervent Coffee Roasters is just on the cusp of startup and I’m so excited to see them on their journey. Keith has big dreams for his business with hopes to have a brick and mortar in the future. He’s using his coffee roasting business as a way to springboard his dream of opening a coffee house which is brilliant. With a goal of being able to continue to replicate the flavors he produces in small batches, Keith is focused on quality even when he moves up in the size of roaster he uses. He shared “I will never sacrifice quality or taste.”

I have ordered my second bag of coffee from Keith and I’m anxiously awaiting my Pura Fruta to brew up tomorrow morning. It’s great to be taken care of by a local roaster. Watching a small batch roaster from the ground up is exciting and I can’t wait to see what else Fervent Coffee Roasters does! Follow Keith over on their Facebook page to stay in the loop on the happenings and also to order your next small batch bag of coffee! I promise it’s worth every penny!
