The Coffee Class welcomed it’s first customers in late summer 2019. I first visited this beautiful coffee shop in January 2020, almost exactly a year ago to the date. It was nothing short of amazing. I realized I never formally wrote anything about my visit and was oddly feeling a pull to visit them this weekend. I visited them today for lunch and they are still as amazing today as they were a year ago.
Side note, I just checked my Instagram and it was 1/19/2020 that I first visited The Coffee Class. Isn’t it weird how the universe works?
Coffeeshops in Las Vegas Pandemic Style
When COVID-19 restrictions were imposed, restaurants around Las Vegas who didn’t have curbside or pickup ordering available had to close. With The Coffee Class being so new, there was no online ordering or app to be able to stay open. They had to close.
While they weren’t sure they would be able to open again, being so new, owner Kyle Cunningham rebranded and pivoted his business. In June of 2020, he rolled out a refreshed website, online ordering, an app, curbside delivery, expanded patio seating, and reconfigured inside seating to meet social distancing guidelines.
…and reopened.
What is the Coffee Class
The Coffee Class opened late summer of 2019 with a mission to ‘elevate your coffeehouse experience’ and ‘transform the daily grind’ through exceeding expectations, giving excellent service, and making a difference in the community.
The menu includes unique food items that you wouldn’t find in a coffeehouse. Comfort foods like pot pie and tasty pastries like their new Strawberry Pop Tart with Port Wine Mascarpone are a staple on their menu. (it’s delicious by the way!) They brew up City Bean Coffee, roasted in Los Angeles and sustainably sourced. Coffee syrups are made in The Coffee House kitchen, making their specialty coffee drinks stand out from the rest.
The Atmosphere
While The Coffee Class is a narrow space, the ceilings are tall making it feel larger than it is. The large mirrored mug art piece hanging on the side wall, gives the illusion the space is wider than it really is. A long bar height table stands in the middle, lends for a comfortable waiting area. A bar lines the other wall with plug ins to allow customers to work or study or just hang out. Outdoor patio seating is available for small or large groups.
While everything is homemade, food and drinks are delivered relatively quickly. Their new app available makes ordering for pickup or curbside convenient and easy. I can attest to this as I used it today! The app even told me when something was sold out!
How’s the Coffee & Food
Okay now the good stuff! Let me just say that I LOVE a coffeehouse where I can get more than just a pastry to eat. Some days I want a savory breakfast, other days I was sweet. Sometimes I want coffee in the afternoon with my sandwich, other times I just want a coffee. The Coffee Class is all of this.
Not many coffeeshops in Las Vegas have a an artisan menu like The Coffee Class. If you want a pot pie with your cappuccino, you’ve come to the right place. And by the way, you must order the pot pie. The rosemary biscuit on top is the perfect compliment to the comfort food that lies underneath.
Today I ordered the turkey club panini and a cold brew with a touch of black walnut syrup. I placed my order through the app and by the time I got there, my order was ready, exactly in the time they stated on the app. While I waited my turn, I ordered their new strawberry pop tart with port wine mascarpone. They have a pear pecan one too, topped with homemade pear cider icing so that one might have to be next. The pastry is light and flaky and FILLED with creamy mascarpone cheese and macerated strawberries in a port wine. It’s lightly sweet, with a touch of cream. This isn’t your regular pop tart!
The turkey club panini was ah-mazing. The bread was toasty, yet soft enough to hold up the filling of turkey, bacon, tomato, and rosemary aioli. It was served with a small side salad, complete with tomatoes, cucumbers, and sliced onions. The dressing was spicy and citrusy and was the perfect compliment to the panini. My cold brew was bold and the touch of sweetness the black walnut syrup provided, complimented the deep chocolate notes of the cold brew.

Would I Go Back?
Hopefully it won’t take me another year to go back! Absolutely I would go back. With The Coffee Class app, there’s no reason I can’t make it back sooner. Despite the pandemic, coffee shops like The Coffee Class who make ordering and visiting easy will flourish. Kudos to Kyle and his team for making a great comeback and delivering on their mission and vision. Thank you to The Coffee Class for being consistent and unique. I’ll be back before January 19, 2022!
