What You Will Need
The ingredients are simple but make sure you have good quality coffee on hand. Good quality coffee is the foundation for any home made coffee house drink because it affects the entire flavor profile of your drink. By good quality, I mean fresh roasted and preferably fresh ground. There are several grinders on the market, but I prefer the burr grinders. The second important piece is milk. If you’re dairy sensitive, grab high quality almond milk or coconut milk. The more fat that is in the milk, the better foam is created along with a more velvety texture.
The third piece is real maple syrup. This one is critical for this recipe. Invest in a good quality maple syrup and stay away from the thick corn syrup based syrups for this recipe. The real maple syrup is light, thinner, less sweet and will melt nicely in your coffee without clumping to the bottom. If you want to take your drink up a notch, toast your pecans and toss them in a little bit of the maple syrup. The syrup will caramelize on the outside and give a nice salty sweet flavor to your drink.
